Slumdog Millionaire bags 8 Oscars
Slumdog Millionaire bags 8 Oscars in the 81st Annual Academy Awards ceremony. Christian Colson bagged the Oscar for Best Picture (Slumdog Millionaire). Danny Boyle bagged the Oscar for the Best Director (Slumdog Millionaire). A.R.Rahman bagged 2 Oscars for the Best Music in Song and also for the Original Score (Slumdog Millionaire). Chris Dickens bagged for the Best Editing (Slumdog Millionaire). Ian Tapp, Richard Pryke and Resul Pookutty bagged the award for the Best Sound Mixing (Slumdog Millionaire). Anthony Dod Mantle bagged the Oscar for Best Cinematography (Slumdog Millionaire). Simon Beaufoy bagged the Oscar for the Best Adapted Screenplay (Slumdog Millionaire).
A.R.Rahman wins 2 Oscars
Indian music maestro A R Rahman wins 2 Oscars for the film Slumdog Millionaire. The await is over for all the Indian fans, who were waiting for this dream event for so long time. He bagged 2 Oscars for best original score in Slumdog Millionaire and its theme song Jai Ho, which made the whole India to celebrate. Rahman, the first Indian musician to win the annual Academy Award siad, "I am proud and so happy". Before this only 2 Indians have won the Oscar in it's 80 year long history. Satyajit Ray was given the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in 1992 and Bhanu Athaiya won the best costume design Oscar along with John Mollo for the 1982 film Gandhi. This 81st annual Academy Awards, created a milestone in the Bollywood history.
